Megan Brown is one of Canada’s top female middle distance runners with many road, track and cross country victories to her name in distances ranging from 1500m to 10km in the past 5 years. Megan has been the Canadian InterUniversity Women’s Cross Country champion in each of the past two years and was touted by many to have a good chance at making Canada’s Olympic team for 2008. However, in her build up to the 2008 Olympic Trials, Megan became very sick and was later diagnosed as having Lyme disease. As a result, Megan was forced to take many months away from competitive training and racing so that her body could recover from the illness.
“Unfortunately in 2008, I wasn’t able to achieve my dream of representing my country at the Olympics. When I returned to competitive running in the fall of 2008, I had to face the reality that my body was far from 100% – I struggled with low energy, slow recovery times and frequent infections that kept me from achieving the level of training and racing that I was accustomed to. I did some research on nutritional supplements to see if I could find a product that might help me overcome these issues and that’s when I found out about 7SYSTEMS. I discussed the product with my doctor and my naturopath and they both recommended I try it. I have been taking 7SYSTEMS for several months now and I couldn’t be happier with the effect that it has had on both my training and overall health. I feel like a new woman.
I have been able to get my health back on track and I am excited to make a fresh start in my quest for 2012. I have a pretty rigorous training plan with lots of attention focused on recovery, and a key part of that is 7SYSTEMS. So far everything is going to plan as I build back to my pre- Lyme disease fitness. The fact that I was able to run 15 minutes for 5k and win the Canadian cross country champs still boggles my mind given how my body felt one year ago. I am really keen to see what I can in the next few years.”
